In a few short years, Boston rock dynamo Hey Zeus have leveled pretty much every stage in the NorthEast US. -and now the dudes are taking their riffage to the masses on a much broader level as they have recently released their first full-length record with Italian label Argonauta Records . With elements of both classic and modern, and a sound somewhere between Deep Purple and The Bronx- they’ve been called:
“a band that does a lot of things right without overdoing it in one area...top-down, needle-burying, guitar-rock...the dudes you want on your side when it’s time to throwdown” (Vanyaland- vanyaland.com)
“straightforward, heavy, dangerous...fresh.” (The Obelisk- theobelisk.net)
“tight, accomplished metal complemented by a good dose of kitsch.” (The Boston Globe)
They’ve captured their energetic and contagious live performance and packaged it up with their first album release, 'X', and will continue the mission of HEY ZEUS: to save your soul with Rock and Roll! They invariably leave an impression on those who witness them live - “Having a good time is our 1st priority – and we leave people no choice but to take part in it with us…
Hey Zeus was formed in 2013 by Boston guitarist/old man/rock veteran Pete Knipfing (Lamont, White Dynomite) and bassist Ken Cmar, who has spent years running a label and promoting bands with Wonderdrug Records. They brought on drummer Rob Davol (Cocked N Loaded, Set Fire) and Bice, Nathan (Goddamn Draculas, Even in Blackouts) to front the band, creating a machine that’s tirelessly dedicated to preserving the craft of Rock n’ Roll.
They’ve been well recognized by the Boston Music Community, being featured on WZLX’s The Watch List as well as being played in heavy rotation on WZLX, Vanyaland Radio, and WEMF Radio.
